    This place is wonderful!    It's a combination of a gift shop and an amazing deli.     Everything that I've gotten there, from lasagna to orzo to shepherd's pie has been divine! A very cool thing about this place is that they have a lot of South African and British foods and spices.   I was able to score some biltong (a south african jerky type... More

    3 Common Types of Wine

    Last updated 1 year ago

    The earliest evidence of wine grapes dates back to 60-million years ago in old Mesopotamia—before farmers began cultivating wine grapes, vines grew wild. Today, there are more than 5,000 varieties of wine grapes and an entire industry dedicated to cultivating grapes, fermenting grapes, and serving wine

    Find out more about a few of the most popular types of wine and why a fine wine gift basket is the perfect choice for discerning taste buds.

    1.      Cabernet Sauvignon

    Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are small red grapes that are known for their hardiness. These grapes tend to give off a blackberry and cedar taste, and they are rich in tannin, which produces a full-bodied red wine when the grapes are properly aged. Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with full-bodied cheeses and chocolate. You can find Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in California and Australia.

    2.      Chardonnay

    Chardonnay grapes can be found all over the world in places like California, Australia, and South Africa. These grapes are known for their fruity flavors, including melon and peach tones. Chardonnay wines are often mellow and make for a great addition to a personal or corporate gift basket.

    3.      Merlot

    Merlot grapes offer cherry and honey flavors. These grapes have less tannin than other red wine grapes, giving a lighter feel. Merlot is also commonly used in blended wines to provide balance and a well-rounded taste. You can find these grapes in France, Italy, Australia, and the U.S. Merlot wines are rarely overpowering, so consider bringing a merlot wine to a dinner party.

    Wine Tasting with Owner and Winemaker Phillip Staehle

    Last updated 1 year ago

    We have the great opportunity of hosting a tasting of wines from Enkidu Winery (out of Sonoma & Napa, CA). If you are not familiar with Enkidu, these are wines of outstanding character and quality. They are a boutique winery 'specializing in small lot production.' Not only will we be tasting these fantastic wines, but owner and winemaker Phillip Staehle will be joining us and discussing his wines, winery and winemaking.

    This tasting will be a lot of fun and very informative. Small appetizers will be served alongside the wine, but our focus is on the wine. We plan on having a slightly smaller group of folks so if this interests you in the slightest, get those reservations in so that we can accommodate you and don't have to put you on a wait list! Here are the details:

    ENKIDU Wines w/ Phillip Staehle (Represented by Vintage Select Wines)

    Where: Leibman's

    When: Friday, July 15th @ 7pm

    Cost: $35 pp++

    This is a specialty tasting that shouldn't be missed!
